If you want to whistleblow, you need to ask yourself whether you have the mental stamina to lose everything of material value and all that you have worked for. You then need to imagine yourself on a desert island and ask yourself whether you would have the survival tactics to keep going. If you have dependants, ask yourself whether you want to put them through the worst emotional and financial trauma ever. Your enemies will use everything in their power to kick you to the floor. They have unlimited financial resources, you don't. You may have to suffer regulatory body investigations, police investigations, vexatious complaints and much more. All these are time consuming requiring lots of paperwork. Don't for one minute believe other whistleblowers will assist you. Don't ever believe lawyers will lend you a sympathetic hand. You will just be a case to them. I had the best lawyer in town apparently, Robert Jay QC. He is Justice Jay now. Jay did the job he was paid to do. Nothing more. Few lawyers will feel for your case. Most will be like Robert Jay. You are merely a file. I was lucky in some ways, I did find the odd lawyer who had protected my interests. Overall though, my experience of lawyers hasnt been wonderful. Don't believe the likes of Wikileaks will help you. They won't. You will find help in the most unexpected of places. Whatever help you find, keep your resources to yourself. Keep your cards to yourself as well. The more the opposition know about you, the more malicious the tactics will be. Being a whistleblower is not easy. It's something you don't do on a whim or for the sake of protecting people. It is something you do after a great deal of thought and consideration after weighing up the pros and cons. It's important to remember that no one needs to be a martyr in a failing system. There are people whose responsibility it is to ensure there is a properly run system. Always remember that there is no such thing as anonymous reporting in a country that collects and records everything on databases. Litigation is not for the weak minded. Be prepared to lose because moving in that sphere is like playing in a casino. Secondly, legal costs are a huge risk. It's no point bleating and complaining about it because that's how the system works. Don't litigate if you arent prepared to lose. Lastly, don't cry about it either. Medicine works a certain way, litigation works in its own way. If anyone wishes to enter this nightmare, ensure you keep a good paper record and evidence of everything. This should be done on paper and hard copy. Try and use encrypted email if you can. Get a good PC, a even better printer and access to space. If you fight in this way, protect your hobbies and your way of life. If your case consumes you, you aren't doing the right thing. Keep your mind clear and your sleep well always. The art is to cause sleepless nights to the other side not to yourself. Keep everything in perspective and trust your dearest but noone else. Lastly, believe in yourself always and steel your emotions up so you can be that person who survives on the desert island. If you can do all that, you will survive whistleblowing.
