Covid-19 is having and will continue to have a major disruptive impact on our emergency services at a time when we need to make best use of them. The new self isolating guidance,  whilst essential in flattening the curve, will stretch our services at the very worst time. Many of the symptoms attributed to Covid- 19 are exactly the same as common simple viral infections which means staff will be self-isolating unnecessarily. 

My proposal to enable symptomatic NHS workers and Emergency front line staff to have the necessary investigations to exclude Covid -19, will mean key staff can return to work sooner. It will enable  leaders to address work-force and business continuity plans. This will only serve to protect our Health service provision and keep the NHS and emergency services afloat during these exceptional times
