Thousands of Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid program) utilize the Medicaid transportation services offered. Whether they don't have a vehicle, or simply can not drive for whatever their reason. They have had the freedom of choice when booking/scheduling their transportation needs. They could contact their choice of LOCAL transportation DIRECTLY. In many of these situations a rapport is built, relationships developed, and familiarity and comfort not to mention needs met. Hold times were minimal if at all. The end of August 2020 Health First Colorado took that freedom and choice away without warning. Making Intelliride the point of contact for the scheduling and dispatching transportation needs for the ENTIRE STATE. This has created disruption in service, difficulty is scheduling, countless appointments being missed, not to mention the relationships that had been forged are now non existent. Clients calling the people and businesses they're familiar with needing help, understanding and guidance and this sudden change has left everyone confused, frustrating, and often times angry. Negatively affecting the client, the business, and everyone's trust. First hand accounts of people sitting on hold with Intelliride for 1.5 - 2 hours at times, only to be greeted with a cold robotic unfamiliar voice on the other line treating you as if all you are is the medicaid number you are required to provide. Each client to have transportation securely scheduled is expected to have information that even the best psychic couldn't have or predict! Through Intelliride you can no longer CHOOSE your preference of transportation provider it's computer generated, you have to have forms printed and filled out for every request including that of an actual service animal. This petition is to DEMAND that Health First CO remove Intelliride as the ONLY point of contact for it's clients to call for their transportation needs and give us our freedom, our Autonomy back.
