We, the students of 3rd MBBS at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College as well as AMC MET Medical College hereby collectively request the Dean to re-evaluate the decision which is directed towards us in the wake of this pandemic, making it a compulsion to report for Covid 19 duties.

We'd like to believe that as students, it should be a voluntary call and not a mandatory response done out of the fear instilled into them.

We would like to request you to understand our situation: we are not fully trained in medicine yet.

We have hardly studied for two months of final year subjects. Even medical council doesn’t allow the graduate of medicine those who have completed the MBBS but not completed the internship.

We have neither completed graduation nor gone through the one year of internship which is extremely important and legally mandatory for a graduate of medicine to begin working on patients.

So how can we be forced and threatened to join Covid duty when we have not even completed our final year ?

Every student should have a choice to go/not go without any bias of the fear of getting disqualified from their respective exams.

I hope you understand the gravity of the situation and take appropriate steps for the collective welfare of the student fraternity.
