I made an error on yesterday’s update and a young lady was gracious enough to not only let me know I said Marcus Luttrell when I should have said MORGAN Luttrell, but she also sent a sample letter for us to send to him. I am just going to put her entire message here, thanks:
The name in the update is wrong; the contact is Morgan Luttrell (R-TX). I wrote a sample letter that you can use & disperse: https://luttrell.house.gov/media/press-releases/luttrell-named-chairman-disability-assistance-and-memorial

RE: H.R. 6023 Veteran Restitution and Justice Act of 2023
Dear Congressman Morgan Luttrell,
I’m writing to ask that you please support bill H.R. 6023 Veteran Restitution and Justice Act of 2023.
Not all wounded warriors fought in combat. Some were attacked by comrades, perpetrators who were sworn to protect their victim’s life, not exacerbate danger. By advocating for this bill, you can provide veterans with the justice they've long been denied.
H.R. 6023 offers retroactive benefits that can make a significant difference in the lives of survivors of Military Sexual Trauma. Given the complexity of MST—that it can take decades to acknowledge and even longer to file a claim—this is the right thing to do. For those who finally file a claim, denial can be another source of trauma. In a recent Office of Inspector General report, it was found that nearly half of MST claims were not handled by specially trained personnel which led to erroneous decisions.
Psychological symptoms are a barrier to self-advocacy, which is why we need your strong voice in Congress to act on behalf of these brave veterans. Please champion this bill to honor their service and address the lifelong disabilities resulting from their traumatic experiences.
Passing this bill will do more than just right past wrongs; it will reassure the families of prospective military recruits. The U.S. Armed Forces are facing an unprecedented recruiting crisis and this will go a long way to help.
As a disabled veteran yourself and the Chairman of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I appreciate your service and ask that you please send me a response to affirm your support for the bipartisan bill H.R. 6023 Veteran Restitution and Justice Act of 2023. This bill provides long overdue justice for MST victims.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
