Recognizing that the Ukrainian government headed by Victor Yanukovych has lost the support and confidence of the Ukrainian people, due to:

• His rejection of association with the European Union
• His capitulation to Russian domination
• His attempt to outlaw basic civil liberties and freedom of association
• The continuing attack on journalists including the vicious beating of Tetyana Chornovil (photo above) and disappearance of others
• Organized use of thugs to commit acts of violence
• The imprisonment of opposition politician, Yulia Tymoshenko
• His violent efforts to suppress the popular will of his people including monitoring, imprisonment and beating of protesters

We, as free and democratic citizens of the world, demand:

• the immediate resignation of Viktor Yanukovych and
• the restoration of civil liberties and democratic government in Ukraine
