Latest Update on HHAS 6/11/2018
Jun 11, 2018 — The committee is still working very hard to make sure our elected County Leaders listen to the voices of county residents and do the right thing by denying the attempts by HHAS to reopen the shelter once more. We wonder why after two closure's and failure to meet the court order of Judge Coleman would the Prosecutors office even consider such questionable action. The numbers of signatures on our petition both on Change.Org and hard copies is now over 700. The county residents are voicing their displeasure of the shelter to be allowed to open for the third time under the previous officers and board.
We have learned that the HHAS attorney is now calling Animal Rescue groups outside of the area to try to find someone, anyone willing to be on their board. This certainly sounds like desperate moves to obtain a permit to reopen. Some rescues contacted have said, "No Way". It would appear that their reputation is well known as a total failure around more then Hunterdon County. We continue to gain ground and have been exchanging our plans with the County for the shelter to open under The Coalition For Animals professional management team. We have a proven record of success and are the best option for the medical care and welfare for the animals in the county that find themselves in temporary need until forever homes are found for them. Please share our petition with family and friends to help us win this for the animals with no voice. Toby is a former HHAS resident that is hoping you spread the word. We thank you for your continued support.
