Parents demand resignation of HSD Interim Superintendent Ingrid Clark-Jackson

The Issue

Dr. Clark-Jackson has, since the Hazelwood School Board meeting of February 16, whereupon budgetary cuts were made, engaged in a campaign of parent and media exclusion, student intimidation and public deception that have ostracized the community and revealed egregious lapses of due process in district budgetary decisions. Moreover, Clark-Jackson has demonstrated a willingness to carry on a double standard and put her personal agenda ahead of the interests of Hazelwood Schools' students. In recent, secret meetings with isolated students, Clark-Jackson granted access to a KSDK news crew to shoot footage as she, along with Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Facilities Dwight Lindhorst, questioned the students who had spoken up in opposition of budget cuts at the board meeting, and whom Clark-Jackson asked to have escorted out at the time. That very day, KMOV news crews were turned away and denied acces to cover an orchestra concert by Hazelwood Schools students. This time, Clark-Jackson used the pretext that she lacked written parental consent to photograph students—a glaring double standard. The children of the Hazelwood School District deserve to have an advocate in their superintendant, not a bully who belittles and intimidates youth when they voice their opinions and concerns, especially as it regards causes important to them. Parents too deserve inclusion, truthfulness and the loyalty of district administrators charged with ensuring a quality education for their children.
