Subject:Request for School Zone Correction for Hawthorne Ridge Subdivision

   We, the residents of Hawthorne Ridge Subdivision, respectfully submit this petition to the Henry County School Board to request the reassignment of our neighborhood from Luella school zone to the Dutchtown school cluster.

Background:

When purchasing our homes, we were informed by builders and real estate agents that our children would attend Dutchtown schools. This significantly influenced our home-buying decisions. After closing and moving in, many families were shocked to discover the actual school zone had been changed to Luella, without prior notice or disclosure.

This miscommunication has disrupted educational planning for our children and caused distress among homeowners who trusted the information provided at the time of sale.

Our Request:

We respectfully request the Henry County School Board to:

Review and correct the zoning for Hawthorne Ridge.
Rezone the community back to the Dutchtown cluster (elementary, middle, and high).
Consider the misleading information given by the builder and the strong, unified support from the subdivision.
