An ‘Aina Pono Farm to School Petition of the students of Hawaii public schools

Addressed to the government leaders of the state of Hawaii:

We the undersigned would like to bring your attention to the following problem, with recommendations:

At best, we eat school food because we have no other choice and we have to eat to get through the day. Almost half of us do not eat the school food. We deserve food that tastes good, and nourishes our bodies and minds. We deserve local food that goes from the soil to our mouths without chemicals, preservatives and ingredients added that are not pronounceable. We deserve to enjoy our food and not just tolerate it. We as students, keiki, and concerned members of the community request scratch-cooked, local food every day in every school throughout Hawaii that equals our potential as human beings to make the world a better place.
