My name is Nash Murray and I’m a senior at Maui High School. I’ve come to see that graduations for Hawaii high schools have been canceled this year. What is the reason for canceling graduation ceremonies and not postponing them for later this year? I’m greatly saddened that there won’t be a graduation ceremony for my school. I would’ve been the first of my household family to the walk the line. Participating in my graduation ceremony was going to be a monumental thing for me working hard in school all these years. I really wanted to see all my family members congratulate me, but now I won’t have that opportunity. I know that many high school students in Hawaii are disappointed that the DOE has cancelled commencement ceremonies this year.
