Aloha All,
I write to you with another update regarding our mission to postpone on-campus courses at Hawaii Pacific University. Hawaii Pacific University has still not acknowledged this petition and continues to ignore or dismiss student concerns on the matter.
Additionally, an individual representing Hawaii Pacific University on social media has chosen to block me on Instagram on the University (@hawaiipacificuniversity) account. This act of censorship is unacceptable. According to the United States Supreme Court, “in our system, undifferentiated fear or apprehension of disturbance is not enough to overcome the right to freedom of expression.” Please write to John Gotanda (HPU President) and Jennifer Walsh (HPU Vice President/Provost) [president@hpu.edu ; jwalsh@hpu.edu] to let HPU know that you would like to postpone on-campus courses at Hawaii Pacific University. We must help protect the safety of students, faculty, and the greater community. Please continue to share this petition with anyone who may want to help protect HPU students, HPU faculty, and the greater community.
Thank you for all of the support this petition has received and for your commitment to keeping Hawaii a safe place to work, learn, and live
Mahalo,
Jack Krizizke
