Show support for a Dog Play Park in the Ward Village/Kaka'ako area
Why this petition matters
ALOHA,
With so many residents and visitors to the Ward Village/Kaka’ako area with dogs, it is time that our community has an off-leash enclosed Dog Play Park in the neighborhood.
One of our beloved neighbors and dog mom – a Hokua Condo resident - has been working with the Hawaii Community Development Association (HCDA) in identifying an appropriate location for a Dog Play Park in our community. The HCDA is the state's ‘governing’ body for the redevelopment/urbanization of Kaka’ako/Ward – and works closely with all developers of condos and commercial construction to ensure that whatever they wish to build is compliant with what the community wants and needs.
We need everyone’s support to especially let the developers (who are building the new condo towers and commercial space, along with those that already exist) that as the area grows and more residents move into their new condos – many will come with dogs – adding to our wonderful dog population.
As such, having a convenient, enclosed Dog Play Park in our neighborhood will establish a safe area where dogs can exercise and interact with one another without disturbing passerby's, their keiki, or damaging neighborhood property. This will make our community even friendlier than it already is, and you do not need to be a dog owner to benefit!
Please sign this petition to help us identify and create a Dog Play Park for Ward Village and Kaka’ako.
