The hospitals in Windsor, Ontario are inadequate and underprepared when it comes to dealing with pediatric emergencies and children who are experiencing critical medical emergencies.

In our experiences, hospital staff were not trained adequately to treat the serious issues our child was experiencing. 

Another issue we experienced was that the medical equipment in the ER was often problematic, as it did not fit his little body and couldn’t properly be used. 

Sadly, this has been the experience of many other local children. Families in Windsor-Essex deserve to have proper emergency care for their children. They deserve to have pediatric  doctors and nurses who can properly care for their children. They should have access to pediatric surgeons and a pediatric critical care unit in times of need. We shouldn’t need to be sent to an out of country hospital or be forced to wait hours for transport to another hospital that is hours away.
