Resurface Cherry Tree Lane Rainham (RM13)

The Issue

*** UPDATE ***

I have received an email from local Councillor Graham Williamson who has been great in raising this issue further with the Council. Cllr Graham Williamson has been able to set up a meeting with the Highways Officer and myself to further investigate the issues with Cherry Tree Lane. I have been advised to get as many opinions about the road to share with the Officer. If you can leave a comment on how the poor state of Cherry Tree Lane affects you (daily) then I will ensure to bring this up during my meeting on the 30th July 2020.

As a resident living on Cherry Tree Lane, I notice the heavy vibrations in the house that are mainly caused by trucks/busses and Havering's waste collection lorries that use the road. For me personally, this has caused cracks in the walls of our house and is very disruptive as the whole house shakes throughout the day, each day. The road is just not in the right state for the amount of (heavy) traffic that uses it, including 3 bus routes. The vibrations could be caused due to the dips in between the tarmac/concrete slabs or other sunken/raised surfaces that you can find over the whole length of Cherry Tree Lane. In terms of planned works, currently the southern section of Cherry Tree Lane is on a Council works plan 2021/2022 as 117th priority. I propose that the Council raises the works much higher in the list of resurfacing priorities and must include the whole of Cherry Tree Lane to minimise the disruption the road is causing on our daily lives.
