Thank you to the THOUSANDS of you who joined the campaign to save The Retailery.

As you'll know, the council declined the funding as well as continuing their lie that The Retailery "applied for charitable status and was denied".

Since the Council's take over, The Retailery has been rebranded with an unmemorable name and a Havering Council website lists no upcoming events at the venue. This is a real shame, many warned that the venue could loose it's soul in the wake of politicians taking over and running it. Perhaps it has. Should politicians be running restaurants?

We don't have to accept this as the norm. Especially when we discover that Havering Council have spent £85,000 on awards ceremonies.

There is a solution.

I want to encourage all of you to ensure that you are registered to vote. Elections may not be around the corner, but you don't want to miss out when the time comes.

If more people are engaged and more people voting, then the more our voices will be heard. Please, register to vote, engage with your councillor and keep Romford special. In just a few months time Crossrail will open and Central London will be closer than ever before. We need to give people a reason to stay in our town.

I am not going to encourage a vote in any direction, that's for you to decide.

Thanks again.

David
