Recent discussions around budget cuts to education and the possibility of closing schools with smaller student attendance have cast a shadow of uncertainty over our beloved Havelock Elementary School. While the intentions are to focus on budget considerations, the impact of such a decision on our community would be devastating. Currently, the prospect of closure means that students, including my own, would face an even longer commute to the nearest school in Petitcodiac - which has a student population of 700+ - disrupting their daily routine and diminishing their educational experience.

Havelock Elementary School has long been a significant part of our community's identity, offering not only education but also an environment where children feel valued, inspired, and confident. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a cornerstone of our community—a safe haven where children grow under the guidance of caring educators who shape the minds of future generations.
