The issue

This isn't a direct attack against DX in anyway shape or form, heck they've conducted great business in the past, this is more or less an official way of getting them to reform / change the way they commit certain business practices.

BY SIGNING THIS PETITION AN EMAIL IS SENT TO THE "Australian Competition and Consumer Commission - ACCC"  IT'S QUICK AND IT'S EASY PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS.

Deals Extreme or DX.com have been known to have outrageous shipping times, horrible customer support and extreme overselling of their products, they've also been known to offer 15-27 day refund times, or no refunds at all.

Please see the below URL for examples from a most recent sale on OzBargain.

They've oversold products, canceled orders and advised refunds can take up to 21 days.

After speaking with Visa / Mastercard and the Ombudsman for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, this doesn't at all comply with Australian Trading Law which unfortunately they have to oblige as their business model is directed purely towards Australians using the AU Direct promotion.

This petition is to present to the Office Of Fair Trading to overview and see the way DX has been practicing in Australia, this is to create transparency on the breaches they are making to Australian fair trading laws.

Could they not put a visa/mastercard hold/freeze on the funds you've placed, once they've found the item in stock, they then continue the transaction like a vast majority of online retailers do? Instead of taking your funds and making you wait 15-27 days to see it again?

You're essentially becoming a short term cash lending service to them being out of pocket yourself whilst they sit on funds which don't belong to them.

The petition is hopefully a way we can educate them to refine the way they do their business, it's not there to name or shame them as they've conducted massive amounts of business in the past.
