Have all dogs registered with the royal Kennel Club

Have all dogs registered with the royal Kennel Club
The Issue
After experiencing the emotional turmoil of obtaining a puppy from a puppy farm, where I witnessed the stark reality of neglected and mistreated animals, I am advocating for change. Puppy farms are notorious for their inhumane breeding practices, focusing solely on profit with little regard for the health and well-being of the animals involved. This experience drove me to realise the urgent need for regulation and protection for our beloved canine companions.
The Royal Kennel Club (RKC), a prestigious institution in the United Kingdom dedicated to the welfare of dogs and the promotion of responsible breeding, has the power to make a significant impact. Currently, not all dogs in the UK are registered with the RKC. This lack of registration facilitates the operations of unethical breeders who exploit animals for financial gain, often keeping them in appalling conditions.
By mandating that all dogs in the UK be registered with the RKC, we can establish a robust system that ensures every dog bred within the country meets strict welfare standards.
If current pedigree unregistered dogs & crossbreeds could be registered with the activity register this would allow any bitch used for breeding to receive the same protection under the RKC as registered pedigrees. Detailed records would make the identification of unethical breeders easier, deterring irresponsible practices that contribute to the suffering of countless animals.
Moreover, registration with the RKC would enable potential pet owners to make informed decisions, knowing that their future companions have been bred with care, ensuring their health and temperament. This initiative would not only enhance the lives of dogs but also promote healthier, happier relationships between dogs and their families.
Let's work together to end the cruelty of puppy farming and champion the rights of all dogs. Join me in urging the government to implement compulsory registration of all dogs with the Royal Kennel Club and fund resources for monitoring and compliance. This is a call to action to protect our loyal friends and ensure their well-being.
