**NEWS** HBC have announced operational date 13th August. All files from council are on the Saying No to Overnight Ban Facebook page. When they are published online I will share the link here. I cannot share the file here.

In a Havant Borough Council cabinet meeting on the 27th June 2018, a recommendation of an outright ban on overnight parking at West Beach car park was made and upheld. Reasons of issues to do with Heath and Safety were given, most likely to be do with spacing between vehicles not complying with fire regulations.

In order to enforce this ban the council will have to spend money on out of hours enforcement patrols as well as losing revenue from the £10 LS/£15 HS charge that is currently in place. It is ridiculous that a selfish minority have spoilt what is a fantastic overnight spot for the majority of responsible motorhome owners that have been coming here for years.

An outright ban makes no sense on so many levels. While health and safety concerns need to be addressed, this situation is a lose-lose for everyone; motorhome owners and the local economy alike.

The ban is proposed to go live on the 13th August 2018. As of the 28th July there is no signage up and nothing on the council's website.

Please spread the word amongst fellow motorhome and campervan owners far and wide, even those who don't go to Hayling Island as this is yet another affront on Motorhomes in the UK and it needs to be contested!
