ONLINE HATE SPEECH AND VIOLENCE IS NOT FREE SPEECH!

Millions of Americans passionately believe that free speech should not encompass hate speech or threats of violence. These expressions DO NOT enrich our worldly discourse; instead, they sow division, inflict harm, and create fear among targeted person and/or different communities. Today, as online platforms become the de facto public squares, it is imperative to ensure they don't become breeding grounds for hostility and violence. 

While freedom of speech is a cornerstone, it was NEVER intended to protect malicious acts that incite hatred and violence. This loophole has led to rampant unchecked hostility online, infecting more significant portions of society. Hate speech and violent threats lead to real-world consequences, often escalating to physical and mental harm, discrimination, and even death in extreme cases. It's high time we hold the platforms accountable for what is disseminated through their services AND punishment by law to the users who perform such actions! 

By mandating that online platforms monitor and penalize hate speech and violent acts, companies will ensure a SAFER community for all. When people know there are real consequences for their unlawful behavior, they are less likely to engage in it. It's not about silencing voices but encouraging responsible dialogue and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background, race, gender, or beliefs.

Monitoring can be carried out through advanced algorithms which are already making waves in the tech industry, including AI, install online reporting systems and a team of professional investigators, to name a few. Furthermore, hiring dedicated teams to manage flagged content can bridge the gap that technology might still leave. It's imperative we consider human oversight to train systems and understand context better. Establishing transparent guidelines and penalties for violators will further deter malicious actors from spreading hate and inciting violence. 

Implementing these measures can forge a path toward a more respectful, tolerant, and inclusive online community. It's not just about protecting the vulnerable; it's about fostering a society where everyone can freely and safely express legitimate opinions without fear of being attacked or suppressed. Online is a new avenue for us all, but it's currently in a wild west atmosphere.
