Hate has no place in Blue Valley Schools! By signing this petition, you are sending a message to the Blue Valley Board of Education and ALL area schools that HATE speak won’t be tolerated:

We demand Jim McMullen’s immediate Censure and Removal from the Blue Valley School Board due to his bombastic and derogatory statements on his public Twitter account, representing himself as a BV school board member. (Can't find his twitter account? That's because he disabled it).

Until Jim McMullen is removed or resigns, he should be disqualified from any decision-making relating to LGBTQIA+ issues, students or district personnel.

Since being sworn in as a board member approximately four months ago, Jim McMullen has engendered controversy, frustration and discrimination against certain student populations, personnel populations and Blue Valley patrons with statements posted on his social media regarding our LGBTQIA+ community.

Jim McMullen continues to state in public tweets that raising transgender children is “child abuse” and encourages the word “gay” to not be said in schools.

Not only are his statements opposed to Blue Valley's Mission "to create a safe and inclusive environment to maximize the potential of ALL," but directly target and isolate valued members of our community. 

Every student, teacher and staff member deserves to feel safe, protected and supported in their school or workplace. Our kids and community demand it. 

It’s time for the Board to do the right thing. Censure and remove Jim McMullen.
