Not For Sale! Hastings Borough Council Must Not Sell The Harrow Lane Playing Field

Not For Sale! Hastings Borough Council Must Not Sell The Harrow Lane Playing Field
The Issue
The Harrow Lane playing field was gifted to Hastings Borough Council. At that time, there were covenants placed on the deed that meant that the site would remain an area for Residents to enjoy, forever.
However, Hastings Borough Council (HBC) have now decided to break those covenants by selling the site for development. Thereby, not living up to the hopes and aspirations of the benefactor.
This petition is for the residents of Hastings and St Leonards to show their displeasure for this course of action. And, request that HBC immediately stop their plans to sell the Harrow Lane Playing field and recognise that the area actually belongs to the people of Hastings, not the council who are merely the custodian of the deeds.
If the council listens to our request we will seek to have that formally recognised so that this situation never arises again.
By signing this petition you personally can make a real difference.
Also, please spread the word, the more signatures we can get on this petition the better.
Thank you.
