Stop stray dogs in Johor from being bought by the authorities to be euthanised!
The Issue
The latest "Stray Animal Control" campaign launched by the Municipal Council in Johor, Malaysia encourages the public to bring in live stray dogs to the municipal council for a reward of RM55 (USD13) per dog. These dogs are meant to be euthanised by the council.
This means anyone can catch stray dogs in any way and bring them in to be euthanised by the council. This encourages stray dogs to be caught in inhumane ways by anyone just for the sake of money. Instead, councils can work together with local NGO's to create a program to SPAY & NEUTER ALL STRAY DOGS.
How much longer should more strays have to suffer like this? Majlis Perbandaran (municipal council) is protected by bylaws and we are not sure how these dogs are really being euthanised by the councils. These form of inhumane campaigns must end. Please sign and share the petition.
To all feeders, NGOs and independent rescuers. If you care for these poor stray dogs, then make a difference by spaying & neutering all the dogs in your area. If you don't, and it's okay by you, please be aware that these dogs will continue to suffer at the hands of the council workers.
All the rallying and petition have not worked so far. Let us all try something else that may help. Let's appeal to the world animal lovers for help with this special petition to stop the torture of stray dogs in Malaysia.
Please share and sign the petition to educate these people on how to carry out their work humanely. Many of us think everything is fine and "dandy"with the stray dogs in Malaysia. It's hell out there for stray dogs.
Please be aware that the NGOs in Malaysia can't save all the stray dogs because we are limited in spaces and resources. All feeders need to do their part in their areas - SPAY & NEUTER ALL STRAY DOGS. One day, hopefully the brutality inflicted upon the stray dogs will come to an end....One day - we will wait and see -our goal - a country with no stray dogs. God bless their souls who have perished and those who are still being victimised.
It's more humane for councils to SPAY & NEUTER ALL STRAY DOGS.
