In 2020, Hasbro revealed that figures based on the monsters from the "Power Rangers" TV series would be released in their own wave of figures in the "Lightning Collection" toyline.  However, when the recent toys were revealed, the figures were met with backlash by fans due to missing paint and making the figures much taller than the Power Rangers figures in the "Lightning Collection" toyline.

While the figures have great accessories and are very detailed, the muted and incorrect paint colors, missing paint applications on the characters' heads and faces, and new 7-inch height has left the figures looking out of place compared to the current 6-inch tall Power Rangers figures.  King Sphinx's face has also been criticized by fans for not resembling his TV series counterpart due to the inaccurate headdress size, the cobra headpiece being too small, the beard being too long and the incorrect looking eyes, cheeks and nose.

We, the fans, would like to see Hasbro make future "Power Rangers: Lightning Collection" figures of the monsters from "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" (as well as other seasons like "Zeo", "In Space", "Time Force", "Dino Thunder", "S.P.D." and many more) made to be closer in height to the six-inch Power Rangers figures or closer in height to villain figures like Goldar and Lord Zedd that are slightly taller than the Rangers' figures, as well as eventually remake new figures of King Sphinx and Pumpkin Rapper in the six-inch-tall scale.
