Make a NEW Marvel Legends Retro Dr. Octopus figure with bendable wire tentacles, please
The Issue
Since 2020, Hasbro released Retro action figures for the Marvel Comics super-hero Spider-Man for their "Marvel Legends" toyline. The original 2020 Retro Spider-Man toyline consisted of six figures (Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Electro, the Green Goblin, Gwen Stacy and Daredevil in his armored costume, respectively) and has since released several characters from the line as fan channel exclusives, such as the Kingpin, Mysterio, the Black Cat, J. Jonah Jameson, the Shocker, Hammerhead, Tarantula and the Rose. However, one character that has not had a Retro/classic figure for the toyline yet is one of Spider-Man earliest, greatest and most popular enemies: Doctor Otto Octavius, also known as the super-villain Doctor Octopus.
The previous Marvel Legends figure for Doctor Octopus was re-released with new paint, a new alternate head and alternate hands as a two-pack with Silk in 2022. However, the "static" tentacles accessories with limited articulation were included and the current Doc Ock body mold is outdated and could use more articulation. Figures of Doc Ock are also usually very hard to find and sell out fairly quickly due to the character's popularity. The 2018 Doc Ock figure and the 2022 Silk and Doc Ock two-pack are now both over $100 each on websites like Amazon and Ebay, so new collectors cannot easily buy a classic Doc Ock figure to add to their collections.
We, the fans, would like to see Hasbro finally include the all-new bendable wire tentacles (currently used for the Hasbro Pulse exclusive animated Doc Ock figure from the Doc Ock and Aunt May two-pack based on "Spider-Man: The Animated Series") for the next Doctor Octopus figure and for the next Doctor Octopus figure to have an all-new body mold with improved articulation, pinless joints (if possible), new alternate heads and glasses, and alternate hands. Fans also hope the next Doctor Octopus figure will be sold separately in a main "Marvel Legends: Retro Spider-Man" wave or as a Deluxe release in all stores and on all websites instead of being an exclusive or fan channel release.
