The Issue

In 2024, Hasbro released a set of six figures for their "Marvel Legends" toyline based on the 12-issue comic book series "Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars".  The "Secret Wars" toyline was released in honor of the comic series' 40th anniversary and originally had three waves of action figures released by Mattel in 1984.  In 2024, Hasbro's "Secret Wars" 40th anniversary wave consisted of six new toys for the Beyonder, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man in his alien costume, Titania, and Wolverine, respectively.  The first set of figures was so successful for Hasbro that a sold-separately figure for Iceman went up for sale in 2025 and a second wave of figures will be released in 2026.  The second wave consists of six new toys for the Absorbing Man, Constrictor, Daredevil, the Falcon, Magik and Spider-Man in mid-transformation into his alien costume, respectively.

One character that was included in the original "Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars" toyline that has yet to be made by Hasbro is Doctor Octopus, also known to comic fans as Doc Ock.  In 1984, Mattel included a new Dr. Octopus figure as part of their first wave of eight figures for children to buy and play with.  However, Hasbro has not included a new figure for Dr. Octopus yet for the "Secret Wars" toyline and Doc Ock has not had a new sold-separately "Marvel Legends" figure since 2018.  Hasbro also has yet to release a new classic figure of Doctor Octopus in his green-and-yellow costume with bendable wire tentacles accessories and Hasbro could even include an alternate head of Doc Ock with black hair instead of brown to match the original 1984 figure from Mattel.

We, the fans, hope that Hasbro decides to make a new "Marvel Legends Series Secret Wars" figure of Dr. Octopus for either a possible third wave of "Secret Wars" figure or as a sold-separately figure like Iceman was for fans and collectors to buy.  It would be a great way for collectors to buy a new figure for Doctor Octopus and for children and new "Marvel Legends" collectors to add a new Doc Ock figure to their collection.
