Please reunite the Mighty Morphin cast members on Power Rangers

The Issue

In August 1993, the Fox Kids network premiered "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and the series became a huge hit. Over the years, when "Power Rangers" would have special team-up episodes and/or reunion episodes on its new seasons, some select actors from "Mighty Morphin" have been able to return the TV series as guest stars (such as Johnny Yong Bosch in the two "Once a Ranger" episodes from "Operation Overdrive", Jason David Frank, Catherine Sutherland and Steve Cardenas in the "Dimensions in Danger" episode of "Super Ninja Steel", and Austin St. John in the "Grid Connection" episode of "Beast Morphers").  But to this day, no reunion special or team-up special has ever included the entire "Mighty Morphin" team as guest stars. There was even once an Instagram post in 2015 from the official "Power Rangers" account teasing the return of Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Aisha and Jason from "Mighty Morphin" on the "Power Rangers Dino Charge" series before the post was deleted, teasing that a possible episode using footage of the MMPR/Dino Thunder/Dino Charge team-up from the Super Sentai series (a.k.a. the Japanese counterpart of "Power Rangers") may have been in the works.  Whatever that post meant before it was deleted, it's the only time "Power Rangers" has ever teased reuniting the full Mighty Morphin team since "Mighty Morphin" ended its third season.  Whatever the reasons as to why it never happened, whether it was because of scheduling conflicts or that former cast members have now long since become union actors while "Power Rangers" remains a non-union TV series, "Power Rangers" has yet to reunite the cast of its original, and arguably most recognized, series.

Why not have them all reunite on "Power Rangers"?  Ever since Hasbro has bought "Power Rangers" from the series' co-creator Haim Saban, we, the fans, would like to see "Power Rangers" finally do everything in its, well, power to finally invite back all of the cast members who would like to return to "Power Rangers" and finally reunite all of the "Mighty Morphin" cast members one last time on the popular TV series. Fans would love to see Walter Jones (Zack Taylor, the original Black Ranger), Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Ranger), David Yost (Billy Cranston, the Blue Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell, the second Yellow Ranger), Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Ranger) and Jason David Frank all return to "Power Rangers" for an episode or two or a Netflix movie reunion, as well as Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park, the second Black Ranger), Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos, the second Red Ranger) and Catherine Sutherland (Katherine "Kat" Hillard, the second Pink Ranger), that teams the original Rangers with the current Ranger season's team.  As a bonus, we would like to see the supporting cast members from "Mighty Morphin" reprise their roles as well, including Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy (as Farkas "Bulk" Bulkmeier and Eugene "Skull" Skullovitch, respectively).  Fans also hope to see the Rangers again face off with Lord Zedd, who recently returned for the Halloween episode of "Power Rangers: Dino Fury".

If a new reunion is made, fans hope to see Austin St. John's Jason Lee Scott serve as the team leader this time and that Jason David Frank could return as both Tommy Oliver and his evil alternate dimension counterpart from the current "Mighty Morphin" comic book series, Lord Drakkon. That said, we, the fans, hope that the show invites back as many of the "Mighty Morphin" cast as possible and that the storyline, whatever it will be about, will focus on all of the original team.  As "Dimensions in Danger" also gave Tommy Oliver a Master Morpher so he could morph into his other Ranger identities like the Red Zeo Ranger and the Black Dino Thunder Ranger, we, the fans, would like to learn how Tommy got the Master Morpher, who made it for him and have the show give Master Morphers to other Rangers with various Ranger powers, including Adam (who was also the Green Zeo Ranger and first Green Turbo Ranger), Kat (who was also the Pink Zeo Ranger and first Pink Turbo Ranger), Rocky (who was also the Blue Zeo Ranger) and Jason (who was also the Gold Zeo Ranger).  Also, if all of the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" actors get to return for a new team-up/reunion, we, the fans, ask to make it at least two episodes long to provide enough screen time and character development for all of the returning characters.  Previous guest Ranger team-up episodes like "Legendary Battle", "Dimensions in Danger" and "Grid Connection" were each only one episode and 22 minutes is simply not enough time to let the returning Rangers each get their chance to shine.

We, the fans, feel a "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reunion on a future season of the "Power Rangers" TV series would be fun and exciting for all parties involved.  It would be a dream come true for long-time fans of the series to see all of the original Rangers reunite and morph one more time.  After so many failed opportunities to reunite the entire cast on any of its "Power Rangers" series over the years, we would love to see Hasbro finally reunite all of the "Mighty Morphin" cast, or as many as possible who would like to return, and let the original Rangers go back to action.  With 2023 being the 30th anniversary year for "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers", we, the fans, hope Hasbro will make some kind of MMPR cast reunion happen.
