Bring Back the Old G2 LPS!

The Issue

First, from an emotional standpoint:

The old littlest pet shops are dear to many, and there are thousands wishing you would bring them back. Many people, from a wide range of ages, prefer the generation 2 littlest pet shops, from children to adults. The old littlest pet shops are cuter, and also, more popular.

Second, from a logical standpoint:

  • The new littlest pet shops have molds inferior to those of the old littlest pet shops.
  • The texture of the new littlest pet shops makes them easier to drop.
  • The new littlest pet shops are very top-heavy, due to the size of their head compared to their body, and the fact that the heads are not as hollow as the old littlest pet shops.
  • There are many who enjoy customizing littlest pet shops, but, with the kind of paint and plastic on the new ones, this can be very hard to do.
  • The paint from the new lps accessories rubs off onto the littlest pet shops very easily. I have had to scrub off this paint many times from my littlest pet shops, and it is a very tedious task.
  • If you bring back the old littlest pet shops, a wider variety of people will buy your toys, thus making your consumer audience bigger, granting you more money, as more people are willing to spend that money on your toys.
  • With the new littlest pet shops, people grow out of them--- fast. I liked the new lps for a short while, then I went back to the old littlest pet shops. The story is the same for many of my fellow littlest pet shop fans.
  • The heads on the new littlest pet shops come off very easily in comparison to the old littlest pet shops. I understand that this was a design choice done on purpose, so you can swap heads to give them different expressions. But recently, that purpose was taken away, yet the heads still pop off easier.
  • On the old ones, the expressions were more neutral, thus fitting more emotions. However, with the new ones, the expressions seem a lot more heavily tied to one emotion, thus making them difficult to use in situations that involve more than one emotion, such as fitting both sadness and happiness.

What will happen when the transition is made?

As I mentioned before, more people will buy your toys, granting you more money. You also won't have to worry about people constantly making calls, complaints, comments, etc about "bring back the old lps" because they would have already been brought back. Your consumers will also be much more satisfied, knowing that they can finally purchase the littlest pet shops we all know, love, and miss.

What will happen if the transition is not made?

People will continue to complain and boycott, and many will refuse to buy your product. Many will resort to spending money to someone on eBay for an old littlest pet shop, rather than doing what you would most likely rather have them do: spend money on littlest pet shops and have that money go towards you. Many of your consumers will still be unhappy with what is currently being sold in stores, and people won't cease to beg for the old littlest pet shops until they are given what they want.

What are the solutions?

There are many ways you can resolve this issue. The two I suggest are:

  • Sell both the old littlest pet shops and the new ones.
  • Replace the new littlest pet shops with the old ones.

Or leave the issue unresolved and continue to make your littlest pet shop fans unhappy. Your decision.
