Border Cafe has been a mainstay of Harvard Square since 1987. It has served countless members of the Boston community, and been one of the only affordable places that students can get a sit down meal with friends. 

Sadly, after a fire in 2019, it has just been announced that Border Cafe will not be reopening. This can not happen! Harvard is the landlord of their location, and we are calling on Harvard to please do whatever needs to be done to make sure that this Harvard Square landmark sticks around! 

On a personal note, I have had more happy memories at Border Cafe than I can count. Birthdays, celebrations, and countless Friday nights were spent in Border Cafe drinking $6 margaritas and endless chips. Even now, living in Brooklyn, I have a freezer full of frozen pints of their gumbo that I transported from their Burlington location. Please, Border Cafe, keep the dream alive. I want to eat quesadillas in your restaurant while listening to Honky Tonk. Tell us what needs to be done to bring you back!
