Dear Friend,

Thank you so much for taking the time to sign the petition against the proposed development on Pinner Road. I just wanted to reach out and to give you an update on our campaign.

A formal objection to Harrow Council will be the most powerful way to object as the council must take all objections in to account. We have until 15 November to get all objections in.

We would be very grateful if you could object online. You can go to the attached link below and you can copy and paste the objection below in the council portal Harrow Planning Portal or you can write your own.

You can also write to the Harrow planning team directly planning.applications@harrow.gov.uk

Finally, the online petition is 1,500 signatures and counting... Please continue to forward; we need as much support as possible.

Your support is much appreciated - The residents of Pinner Road and The Gardens!

Objection

Unsatisfactory mitigation for badgers. Impossible to enforce 30m exclusion zones as site is small. Loss of green corridor. Outstanding bat and reptile surveys. Loss of other trees, flora and fauna of visual amenity within an established woodland which acts as a noise buffer between the homes on Pinner Road and the railway. Unacceptable increase in noise and pollution. The proposed development by reason of its siting, site levels and location of access and parking; would result in disturbance, an overbearing appearance and unacceptable loss of privacy and security, to the detriment of the amenity of neighbouring residents. windows and balconies which will enable overlooking in to homes and gardens. The access road and its elevation above the gardens along Pinner Road would cause the introduction of activity generated by vehicles at an elevated level, which would have a prejudicial impact on residents by way of increased noise, pollution and loss of visual amenity. Scale, mass, density and design are inappropriate and out of character for the site in relation to the existing residential homes. loss of daylight and sunlight. High risk of fly tipping in to neighbours gardens. risk of flooding. High risk of blocked drains and unhealthy and unsanitary damage to gardens and homes. Japanese knotweed on the site is extensive and dense. No planning application should be considered until the knotweed has been successfully removed and there is proof it has been permanently excluded from the site. construction of the site will involve cranes which are hazardous in such close proximity to residential homes and Vaughan School. There is the risk of collapse and the resulting loss of life and/or injury this could cause. Previous planning applications in 2004 (ref P/2632/04/CFU/TW), 1998(ref WEST/103/98/FUL) and 1999 (ref WEST/130/99/OUT) were refused. These were for much smaller developments. They were refused for many of the reasons set out above. Committee should visit the site.
