I feel this is a wonderful initiative which is likely to bring communities together and build stronger relationships within the multiculturally diverse Borough of Harrow. It is a way to rebuild any lost hope and will act as motivation encouraging one another to keep going.

An application has been submitted by Harrow Mosque to Harrow council requesting to allow for the Muslim 'call of prayer' (Adhan) to be amplified once a week (Friday) at a particular time (18:00) only. The 'call of prayer' would be approximately 2-3 minutes long. This plan has been initiated in response to the current undesirable situation we are all facing, known as the Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, this would be a temporary measure, and would generally cause little nuisance to residents as it would be broadcasted early evening which would last a few minutes only. There is currently a petition in opposition, however, one must understand this approach is likely to bring about the benefit of increased positivity and peace within the community. 

Furthermore, I believe the Church is being encouraged to ring Church bells at this particular time as well. Other faiths I believe are also being encouraged to take part in their own respected ways. It is a unique idea which would allow stronger bonds to form within communities enriching them further, which would be good for all in the long run. 

Harrow is a very multicultural and diverse community, in which all faiths, cultures and ethnicities reside in harmony together. 

It is encouraged that the entire human race should come together in these unpredictable difficult times of uncertainty and horror, honestly what other better way to get through these tough times other than by remembering our creator? Whether it is the respected Muslim 'call to prayer', respected Christian ringing of Church bells or other faith-related respected ways of showing devotion, the point is to get involved together to pray and remember. 

Consequently, many other London Boroughs have agreed to this one-of-a-kind initiative, and members of their community have supported it. So let's get involved just like the other Borough's and carry on encouraging the diversity of London.

Remember when there is hope, there is a way.
