Why has it taken two years for the Gateway scheme to be stopped?

NYC have been allowed to operate in a complete undemocratic systemic way and  impose this on Harrogate and its residents.

Why has it had to take a JR to stop this type of  undemocratic bullying imposed onto the  public. 

With great appreciation to the two business men who staked their money, Thank you. However, if we had not had such financial help...this scheme would have been allowed to continue by our local MP.

Let's not forget that there were three Consultstions which the results were all against this Gateway Scheme.

Even at an Executive level Council meeting a member of the public was gaslighted, with bulling tactics that the results of the third Consultation were not as the real democratic results revealed...NYC decided to add the the undecided percentage to the minority group who were for the scheme and get a bigger figure.

 Then with incredible audacity imposed there WRONG figures to a member of the public. Telling them that was correct and that they had got it wrong.

The Petition against the Gateway was laughed at and dismissed at an Executive meeting. Not to mention that having got over 500 signatures it was not allowed the 30 minutes of debate which is against the democratic rights of the Public.

Should NYC and their Offices be allowed to continue with such behaviour, such fantastically massaged facts?

How could our local MP just sit back and watch this undemocratic political movie playout without intervening ???

Even now, our local MP is not apologising to the people of Harrogate that voted him in, for the most un-democractic shambles that has just been allowed to happen over the last two years!!!

What a complete disgrace for the people of Harrogate.

What about the £2M pounds of public money used for the Gateway Consultation?

Did the Public agree to this at all?
Were the public informed about this at the beginning??
