We on the left have much in common in terms of sharing values of fairness, equity, justice, cooperation, sustainability etc. We have more in common than separates us from the politics of austerity, privilege and greed that lies before us. We need therefore a new ‘Progressive Alliance’ whereby all sharing such beliefs can now form a consensus on building a common platform for 2020. We therefore call on like minded politicians to form a new kind of leadership, one built on a coalition of the left, so as to ensure a national umbrella alliance wherein votes cast are not split and a more representative government is brought to power in 2020.
