Harmful odors

The Issue

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) in Fort Pierce Industrial Park has been linked to the emission of foul and harmful odors during their milk processing with certain types of bugs. This has led to health concerns among citizens, with some reporting illness, and interruptions in their daily lives, including being sent home from work. The pungent odor doesn't stop at the plant's boundaries but reaches into the residential area of Little Valley, invading homes and businesses, making it difficult to eradicate the smell. These detrimental consequences of DFA's operations impose a significant public health issue that the city needs to address. We are petitioning the city to compel DFA to find a comprehensive and permanent solution to this ongoing problem. According to a 2017 report by the Environmental Protection Agency, long-term exposure to air pollutants can lead to respiratory illnesses. Protecting our community's health should be of paramount importance. Therefore, we call upon you not to bear this miserable situation any longer. Lend your voice to this cause by signing this petition, and prompt local authorities to prioritize this urgent issue.
