The councils named in this petition all use the Oasis Hotel in Harlow for temporary accommodation.

The conditions at the Oasis (good examples can be found on Tripadvisor: Oasis Hotel) are unsuitable.

Many of the people housed at the Oasis have drug and alcohol problems, which lead to a great deal of antisocial behaviour and crime in the local area.  Having been housed many miles from their previous homes, access to appropriate support for their problems is limited.  Instead, they are living with many other substance abusers which is not conducive to recovery.

Some councils also send families with small children to live in dirty conditions, surrounded by drug addicts and alcoholics.

All of the councils have been made aware of the conditions at the Oasis and the problems caused by its use for temprorary accommodation.  Some councils have committed to cease use of the Oasis.  Those named on this petition have either responded to say that they find the conditions acceptable and will continue use, or have not responded at all.
