Hold the Harlan County Animal Control Officer Accountable!

Hold the Harlan County Animal Control Officer Accountable!
The Issue
It is such a sad situation for the strays in Harlan County Kentucky. Every day, you can see pets walking the streets, sick, healthy, diseased, and unaltered; not to mention all of the dead dogs and cats you see daily! Pets are left outdoors either terribly restrained conditions, or left to roam. The populations rise due to lack of control by the animal control officer. It takes an act of God, or the right person, to get an animal picked up. Then, it takes days or weeks to get someone to come to your area, if ever. If you live within city limits, you now have to call the city hall in your area, which is ridiculous. Leash laws, kennel license, permits for an abundance of healthy pets, and city tags need to be enforced. Discounts for city license should be offered for pets that have proof of altering by a licensed Veterinarian. In Lexington, KY. it was $50 per pet for unaltered pets and $5 for altered pets. All we need is a few active officers in our county. Please, help get solutions for this area, so we can stop seeing sick, dead, and/or dying animals on our roads. Spay today! I’m sorry, but for every stray/dead/sick/or overpopulation colony, I will be taking photos.
