Canadian Forces Long Term Disability Insurance Widows Deserve Equality With VAC Widows
The Issue
Canada treats disabled vets on the CF's Service Income Support Insurance Plan (SISIP) very poorly.
Specifically, their Survivor & Orphans would not get any benefit at all whereas the "mirror" program under Veterans Affairs Canada's Earnings Loss Benefit gets half of the amount payable each month.
That is simply unacceptable in a common law democracy as we expect FAIRNESS.
The government can choose to fix this or the Courts will impose a legal solution as it is probably a breach of Canadian Human Rights Act s. 7(b).
