Happy Friday animal friends! We have seen many victories over the past few weeks with several major companies adopting sweeping chicken welfare reforms, including Carnival Cruise and Nestle! Several more food service companies also produced policies, meaning currently over 50% of food service companies in the US have commitments to provide better lives for the chickens in their supply chains. It’s clear that CKE Restaurants is allowing its brands, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr., to fall behind on animal welfare reform. Option #2: Please work with your leadership team to adopt the basic chicken welfare standards that Burger King, Subway, and Chipotle have already committed to. With so many major food chains taking a strong stance in support of animal welfare reform, it is bad business to be falling behind on such an important issue.
