Over the past few weeks General Mills, Nathan's Famous, Jamba Juice, Barnes & Nobles, and Campbell Soup adopted comprehensive chicken welfare policies that will improve the lives of millions of chickens! Let’s keep the pressure on Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. and demand that they adopt these basic welfare reforms!
1) Comment on Carl’s Jr.’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/carlsjr/
Use one of the examples below or write your own and comment on the latest post.
Option #1: How can Carl’s Jr. claim to serve quality food when it has lower food standards than many of its competitors? Burger King, Subway, Sonic Drive-In, among many others, have produced comprehensive chicken welfare policies. Why won’t Carl’s Jr. commit to the same standards? www.pioneersofcruelty.com
Option #2: Have you seen where Carl’s Jr. gets chickens for its $5 All Star Meals? These filthy, overcrowded factory farms are disgusting and cruel! https://youtu.be/WmODn0y5B7s
2) Call Jeff Jenkins, CKE’s Chief Marketing Officer
Call 800-422-4141, press zero and ask to be transferred to Jeff Jenkins.
Please say something like: (leave a message if no one answers)
Option #1: I am calling to express my concern that CKE has failed to adopt basic chicken welfare standards that many of its competitors have already adopted. Until this issue is addressed, I will be taking my business to companies that care about animal welfare.
Option #2: When will CKE produce a policy to address the serious welfare concerns for chickens in its supply chain? It’s unacceptable for a company to claim to offer quality food, yet be falling behind on commonsense animal welfare standards!
Thank you for speaking up for chickens!
