Chaos on Soča in 2024
As we have been dreading, the Intermunicipal Administration of the Soča Valley published the message below in Slovenian on its web page https://www.soca-plovba.si/ . Bovec is keeping the same price of river permits, while Kobarid and Tolmin are raising them multiple times by adopting separate regulations. We consider it a disgrace. This means e.g. that two permits will be required for the Srpenica-Trnovo section. You can express your opinion here:

Dear visitors, friends of the Soča, or, as the regulation calls you, users of the navigation area of the Soča and Koritnica rivers.
Navigation on the Soca and Koritnica rivers is permitted from 15 March to 31 October, from 9 am to 6 pm. A fee is payable for use, which users can arrange at https://dovolilnice.dolina-soce.si/?lang=sl Further purchase information will be available from the Tourist Information Centres in the Posočje region.
Please look carefully at all the warnings and information we provide before entering the river. This is the only way to use the navigable area safely and responsibly, as far as outdoor sports activities allow.
Due to the natural conditions on both rivers, dangerous obstacles will always be present, so please take extra care and check the condition of the intended navigation route before entering the river, both via this website and in person.
If the water level is above 40 m³/s, measured at the Log Čezsoški - Soča gauging station, we advise against downstream navigation.
This means that while you can use the navigable area, navigation will require extra care.

SECTOR 1: Bovec
Daily kayak: 3 €
Weekly kayak: 16 €
Season kayak: 30 €
Season raft: 500 €
SECTOR 2: Kobarid
* Single unnamed permit: 10 €

Weekly name pass: 50 €
Season name permit: 250 €

SECTOR 3: Tolmin
* Single unnamed permit: 5 €
