Hands off our OCEAN SHORES nature reserves & marine park
The issue
Hands off our OCEAN SHORES nature reserves & marine park.
NO to MARSHALLS CREEK BOARDWALKS & PATHS

Say NO to over 2 kilometres of boardwalks and paths through Marshalls Creek & Brunswick Heads Nature Reserves, Ocean Shores, Byron Shire.
Byron Shire Council have plans to push this two-stage project through our local nature reserves despite the National Parks & Wildlife Service saying they do not support the project.
There are already existing routes that can be taken without invading the nature reserves. Rajah Road already provides access from Ocean Shores to the M1 bridge and on to Brunswick Heads.
These nature reserves are primarily established for conservation and scientific study of nature unlike the many local national parks that cater for a range of public activities (eg walks; camping; picnics etc). However these nature reserves already have existing access on foot or car via North Head Road; Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve Road; plus, by boat or canoe.
There are many rare native species that are just holding on and will disappear if there is too much human intrusion. For example the osprey; White-bellied Sea Eagle; Beach Stone Curlew; Mangrove Honey Eater and Mangrove Kingfisher
For over 30 years, local conservation group, Conservation Of North Ocean Shores (CONOS) have been successfully helping to create and protect the four local reserves: Billinudgel & Marshalls Creek & Brunswick Heads Nature Reserves, and Cape Byron Marine Park.
Now we need your help.
