Bring Awareness, Stop, and Change to Blatant Micro-Agression in our HBCU’s
This petition made change with 221 supporters!
As you know, Lori Shipley, an active working Professor at Hampton University, has taken to social media to slander people of color with racist and xenophobic comments. Not only with the remarks on Therese Okoumou, but countless other aggressive and microagressive comments from Muslims in Europe, to African immigrants to Spain.
This type of behavior is far from juvenile and should not be acceptable anywhere, ESPECIALLY in an HBCU. In a world where People of Color are met with such hatred, our schools should be a safe haven to grow, cultivate our thoughts in a protected environment. Would you feel as safe knowing this is what one of your professors thinks about you?
Let’s hold the university to its own standards. The change we want to see, the change we need to see, starts with you and me. By signing this petition, we are giving ourselves a voice to combat this type of online behavior with real life consequences, and will let Hampton University know the types of faculty YOU want to see on campus.
