As Mr. Rodgers use to say, '…it's a good day in the neighborhood'. And it certainly is so.
At the recent Hamilton ZBA meeting on July 10th, it was announced the developer had ‘withdrawn without prejudice' from the current 40B plan at 133 Essex! In addition, pending expected acceptance by the court, both appeals have also been withdrawn by Chebacco Hill Capital Partners.
It IS a good day. A day so many have worked hard to achieve. It has been nearly four years of vigilance and the conveyance of hard facts that now rests before the Town of Hamilton. Every effort to save this pristine land at 133 Essex Street from radical destruction has been unveiled. For now, the protection of our water, our quiet neighborhood, the 60+ pristine acres, can remain as is--- protected and secure from destruction.
This is not to say that the owner of the property nor the developer are completely done. However, we are optimistic and our path forward looks clearer and more favorable. We can all pat ourselves on the back. This is a huge positive step. Though the future of this parcel of land still remains unknown, hopes are a land trust will secure its fate allowing it to remain naturally wild... FOREVER.
We will continue to hope for donations to hold true to the debt we have. Our 'Expert Team’ helped achieve this remarkable outcome. More so, the countless concerned members of SCT&W have proven when there is a will, there is a way. Exciting days lay ahead.
In endless gratitude, our tremendous thanks--- to one and all--- we raise a glass. We will continue to keep you informed.
