Hi everyone, 

Earlier this evening, in response to what I imagine was a flood of emails, Wippman sent Shelley Haley the following email: "Shelley, I certainly had no intention of causing offense and regret very much that I did. If at any point you would be open to a conversation, please let me know."

If you doubted his dedication to maintaining the status quo and ignoring the student/alumni body, this should dispel that doubt.

A few hours later, alumni were informed of the Advisory Council Members, who are as follows:

Professor Haley's comments from Facebook: "This is how institutionalized racism works: Lisa Trivedi, the history professor on the Advisory council does not work on race but she was the Chair of the search committee that selected the Dean. Caleb Williamson (who I think identifies as Black but who knows) was a student member on the search committee who selected Wippman and is very close to Todd Franklin who is deemed the only African American deemed worthy to speak for ALL folks of African descent. This is how Hamilton works: find folks of color who are safe, who are palatable to you, who won't rock the boat you have constructed, who will work to keep the status quo. Well in the words of Emma Gonzalez: "I call BS.""

This man has GOT TO GO. Professor Haley has been on the faculty longer than both the faculty appointed. Current students did not receive the email announcing the advisory board and its members. This administration, headed by David Wippman, has absolutely no interest in making a single meaningful change to a system in which they themselves are comfortable. No more.
