Variable Speed Limits on Regional Roads in Halton
The Issue
Regional Roads in Halton (such as Steeles, Lakeshore and Dundas) are arterial roads that are used frequently for inter-city travel. As speed limits are already introduced to most of these regional roads in Halton, crashes and collisions also seem to correlate with the different weather conditions, such as snow. Different times of the day and different times of the week (rush hour) also seem to correlate with collisions. If we lower the speed limits during inclement weather or in winter, we can reduce collisions drastically. This will require very little funding, but should also require a petition.
