Moorfield Road Widnes Traffic Calming Measures Required

Moorfield Road Widnes Traffic Calming Measures Required
Why this petition matters
Residents living on Moorfield Road have been campaigning since 2004 to get Halton Borough Council to accept the fact that there is a serious danger to residents living on or near Moorfield Road from speeding vehicles, dangerous driving and overweight H.G.V's.
In 2017 the Moorfield road action group was formed to get local Councillors to act on the safety issues facing the local community and take action to mitigate the danger. Halton Borough Council continues to dismiss, disprove, invalidate, discredit and contradict any evidence of a serious road safety issue and refuses to take any action to reduce the danger, especially to our children walking to/from Moorfield Primary school.
Ever since these serious safety issues were raised, we have been met by dismissive and unhelpful attitudes from our Local Councillors including the Council Leader. They are totally unwilling to fight the corner for the very same people who helped to elect them, so we need everyone who feels the same way as we do that immediate action needs taking to prevent a serious accident or fatality, should sign this petition.
Is it acceptable that vehicles have been recorded at over 100 mph in a 30 mph zone?
