The Issue

As a regular hiker of the beautiful forest area in Kharghar, the disturbing sight of wildlife being disrupted because of the constant construction has propelled me to take action. The construction projects are not only harming the tranquility that I, along with many other locals, enjoy but also threatening the rich biodiversity of the area.

Ecological surveys have shown that our forest is home to various rare and endangered species that could potentially face extinction if this construction continues (Ecobiology Research Institute). Further, forests play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas contributing to global warming. The destruction of our woodland is also contributing to our planet's climate crisis (IPCC, 2018).

In light of this, it becomes imperative to think about the long-term consequences of these short-term construction projects. Reducing construction within the forest, or ensuring it is performed responsibly, is essential for the survival of the local wildlife and the preservation of our environment.

It's high time we pay attention to the wellbeing of the ecosystem we are a part of. I urge you to sign this petition to halt the unnecessary construction in our beloved forest in Kharghar. Together, let's preserve it for ourselves and our future generations.
