Specifically, the parcel of land on Oswalt Rd, Clermont, FL (Alt. Key 1114870) which is on the verge of a rezoning change from rural to urban low-density land usage. The current zoning allows for 1 dwelling per 5 acres, the change in zoning would allow up to 4 dwellings per acre.
This anticipated transition raises major concerns, such as a marked decrease in property values, an upsurge in traffic, and a strain on public services like road maintenance, trash pick up and emergency services. The rezoning could also invite commercial activity more suited to urban environments, disrupting our peace and quiet. Development of this parcel has envirmental impacts as well with known Gopher Tortoise activity in the area.
