HALT the Rezoning of Agricultural Land to Industrial next to BIRDS HILL PROVINCIAL PARK

HALT the Rezoning of Agricultural Land to Industrial next to BIRDS HILL PROVINCIAL PARK
The Issue
The residents of St Clements, MB, Canada, and surrounding areas are facing a dire situation that threatens the tranquility and safety of their community. A proposed development plan aims to transform agricultural land into an industrial zone for manufacturing emergent and non-emergent injectables. This will not just be a change on paper; it will be a drastic alteration that will impact every day life for countless Manitoba residents because not only will the massive manufacturing plant be situated next to hundreds of homes, it will also be just 2 kilometers away from BIRDS HILL PROVINCIAL PARK entrance!!
The backyards of near by residents, where peaceful moments with family and friends are enjoyed, will be overshadowed by this massive plant. The commute to work for all who use 59 Highway will become more hazardous due to the increased traffic caused by hundreds of factory employees, and heavy duty vehicles associated with the factory operations. The streets where children play freely may no longer be safe or quiet. The once undisturbed woodlands, wildflowers, beaches, camp grounds, and hiking trails of Birds Hill Provincial Park will be forever changed by the many forms of pollution of the massive plant will produce in to the environment.
Moreover, the air we breathe is at risk. Industrial activities often lead to increased pollution levels which can have serious health implications (Source: World Health Organization). The serene sounds and smells that characterize our country community and Provincial Park could be replaced by constant noise pollution and unpleasant odors emanating from the plant.
Progress is necessary but not at the expense of people's wellbeing or environmental sustainability. There are other locations better suited for such industrial activities that won't disrupt provincial park lands, surrounding wildlife, and residential communities!
This isn't just about preserving what we have today; it's about safeguarding what future generations deserve – clean air, safe streets, preserved provincial parks, peaceful surroundings. Let us stand together against this proposed development plan! Sign this petition now to protect St Clements and Birds Hill Provincial Park from becoming an industrial zone!
